HEY! Welcome the new recruit, :iconhairypackman: asked to be a mod and help out around here, help pep the joint up a bit. So, all hail the =hairypackman!

Not much has been going on with this club, and that is partially my fault. I moved to a new place and things were a bit up-in-the-air, and then a bunch of vacations happened so I haven't had much of a chance to do anything here. I would like to get people involved in this place again! Please don't forget to post artwork or stories to the club, we are always eager to see your creations for our favorite stars. I guess that also means I should draw some new fan art, too!

:bulletred: About: I was unsure how to classify the old-style physical slapstick humor and the firing of verbal bullets in the stylings of asides, nonsequitors, double-entendres and puns. One word came to mind: "Vaudeville". This club is dedicated to the fans of the vaudeville style comedy of black & white films, carried out by comedians such as the Marx Brothers, the Three Stooges, Abbott & Costello, Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, Cary Grant, Dick Van Dyke, Ben Turpin, Harry Langdon, Bob Hope, Jack Benny, Red Skelton, Harold Lloyd, W.C. Fields and other comedians who adopted the vaudeville style, even if they wern't in vaudeville themselves. If they do the shtick, they're included in this club.

:bulletred: How do you join the Audience? Click this [link] for the info.

I understand. Believe me. lol Interests change, discoveries are made and they become new favorites. If it wasn't that way, I'd think that life would get pretty dull. :)

The reason why I asked you to change my favorite comedians list to (Jerry Lewis, Abbott & Costello, and The 3 Stooges) is not because I don't like The Marx Brothers - I really do like them!

I just like The 3 Stooges a little more, that's all.

Thanks!

Wow, this group rocks! Was it created with folks like me in mind? I have loved the Stooges, the Marx Bros. and Charlie Chaplin since I was a kid and I have always adored the vaudeville style. I saw the Harpo Marx birthday celebration on TCM and loved it. Harpo's a cutie. :D I'd like to join this place!

Say, did anybody see the one Pokemon Episode where they payed a tribute to Groucho Marx???

The Character in the Pokemon Episode was called, ~Dr.Quackenpoker~ if I remember right and he was so obsessed with Magickarps.

I watch that episode everytime that it ever comes on:D

~Captain Yoshikano ^_^~

PS: The Pokemon Episode was during the Orange Island League and Tracey was so happy to go and meet Dr.Quakenpoker:aww:

haha yeh, I know.. I felt the same way about wanting to hug him and stuff. I ended up feeling motherly towards him, sometimes you can see him setting up a story and you KNOW he's gonna fall into the trap and it's that feeling of "Oh no! Poor Harpo's gonna fall for it!" He never really LEARNS, he's so trustful of people and doesn't want to be alone, that he delibirately falls into these traps, it's terrible. It really teaches the readers ALOT of valuable lessons about people.. they all know a sucker when they see one, and that sucker was nearly always Harpo. You just want to hug him and comfort him when stuff happens.

Chico is a rogue lol true. But he's got everything figured down to a mathematical science. It shows that there is true wits there, he just misuses it on the challenge of winning at gambling lol Anyway, I wont spoil anything by saying any more, maybe we can talk about it when you get done? :) Once you get done with the book, you'll see alot of the moments in the films mirroring things that happened in Harpos life (everything from Harpo being bullied to old stage routines) it's really cool.

Speaking of torment scenes, when Harpo started getting beat in Night at the Opera, I almost had a cow. My family made fun of me cuz I stood up and started fussing at the guy on screen.
Yeah, I'm loving to book, though. I keep telling myself to take it slow (because I could devour it in one or two days and I want it to last). I'll check out your site as soon as I finish and go around to read it again (cuz I don't want any spoilers or nuthin'). He's got such a wonderful way of telling stories. I want to laugh and hug him at the same time. Absolute sweetheart!(and Chico's such an absolute rogue. Heh.)
